8staff is a desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The app on this machine is free. Cloud desks and a shared team floor are paid. By downloading or using 8staff, you agree to these terms.

The app

8staff gives named teammates a desk, a standing job, and a computer on your machine. The desktop app is provided as-is. Cloud desks (hosted work that can continue when this machine sleeps) and a team floor (a shared roster, seats, and billing) are optional paid offerings, currently billed by arrangement at hello@8staff.com. We may ship updates through GitHub Releases. Installing an update is always your click.

Your models and plugins

You bring the CLIs (Claude, Codex, Grok, Cursor, and any other you sign in) and the plugins you connect. Those vendors’ terms apply to their services. 8staff does not grant you a license to those models and does not mark them up.

Your machine

You are responsible for this computer, for who may use 8staff on it, and for the Allow or Deny choices in the thread. Schedules run while 8staff is open. Work a teammate does is work on your machine, under your accounts.

Honesty

We do not claim overnight model training, or that closing the laptop keeps this machine awake. Cloud desks are a paid, opt-in hosted floor — not the default. If the software fails, your remedy is to stop using it and delete it. That is the honest version of “as is.”

The site

8staff.com offers information and download links. It is not the app. Do not scrape installers from us in a way that overloads GitHub Releases; use the published download routes.
