Your staff stays on this machine.

8staff is a desktop app. This policy is for the app and for 8staff.com. It is short because the design is short: the staff lives on your machine.

What lives on your computer

The roster, each teammate’s computer, plugins you connect, and the local notebook (if you turn learning on). Logins for Claude, Codex, Grok, Cursor, and any other CLI you sign in stay on this machine, using that vendor’s own sign-in.

What 8staff does not do

• We do not proxy your model CLIs or borrow their tokens.
• We do not operate a remote brain that trains on your briefs, files, or mail.
• We do not sell a model subscription or markup Claude, Codex, Grok, or Cursor tokens. Cloud desks and a shared team floor are paid 8staff offerings; they bill hosted compute, not those vendors.
• We do not require the 8code app.

What leaves the machine

When a teammate uses a signed-in CLI, that vendor receives what they would receive if you ran the CLI yourself — under their terms, with their account. When a teammate uses a plugin you connected (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, GitHub, Notion, or an MCP you added), that service receives what you already allowed by connecting it.

The app itself may make one optional network call: an anonymous check against GitHub Releases for updates, about once a day, disclosed in Settings and switchable off.

If you use cloud desks or a team floor

Pro, Business, and Scale are paid offerings. A cloud desk runs on an 8staff-hosted machine so the shift can continue when this laptop sleeps. A team floor is a shared roster, briefs, and usage on that hosted side. You opt in. Local desks, local logins, and the local notebook stay on this computer unless you put that work on a cloud desk.

Billing for those plans (and optional credit top-ups) is handled so we can charge the card and keep the floor up. We do not use that to train a model on your night shift.

This website

8staff.com is a sales site. It serves pages, a sitemap, and download redirects to GitHub Release assets. It does not host your staff.
